SAFE PROJECTLogo

Development of Smart devices based on big dAta analysis for Football injury prEvention and in vivo telemetrical studies during competition.

Problem to be solved

Currently, there are no devices available that provide objective data on the in vivo detection of the injury mechanism by repetitive pattern of the sporting gesture in football. This means that it is not possible to know concretely how and why an injury has occurred during competition. No device on the market measures such a relevant factor as how the player may have been changing the biomechanical pattern of the gesture in the moments prior to the injury. That is the key of Podoactiva solution.

Our Solution

A smart wearable integrated into the players insole and a biomechanical monitoring system of the lower limb to recognize, through in vivo artificial intelligence algorithms, biomechanical change patterns on the sporting gesture that may lead to injury. To this end, specific protocols and preventive guidelines will be developed to help detect the injury before it occurs or, if it does occur, to identify the specific movement that has caused it.

Innovative Potential

Smart wearable within the insole

Sensors integrated in the insole will provide detailed information on the movements made by the foot through an inertial sensor system. The generated data will provide relevant information regarding the player's gesture, with regard to injury prevention and, if an injury has occurred, to know exactly the gesture that caused it.

Biomechanical monitoring system of the lower limb

System based on movement analysis technology through sensors (IMU) placed along the lower limb for the knowledge and study of the player's sporting gesture pattern. Due to this innovation, telemetrical studies will be carried out to know the biomechanical pattern of the football player.

Exclusive protocols for biomechanical assessment in football

Development of exclusive protocols for the knowledge and optimisation of sporting gestures in football. Objective: To evaluate and compare the values extracted from the sensors via smart wearable and the biomechanical lower limb monitoring system in order to accurately recognise changes in the sporting gesture.

Big data, artificial intelligence algorithms and 5G technology

Sensors will generate data information, which will be stored in a cloud. This data will be processed through artificial intelligence algorithms (IA), which will allow automatic and instantaneous recognition of a change in the pattern of the sporting gesture, which will alert the team's physical trainer to be able to act and carry out preventive training actions on the player. Finally, it should be noted that the 5G technology integrated will allow this information in vivo.

How it works?

Advantages

1

In vivo detailed information of the biomechanics of the football player, both in training and competition.

2

Intelligent detection and analysis through artificial intelligence algorithms of changes in sporting gesture patterns in football for injury prevention.

3

To gain in-depth knowledge of the cause of an on-field injury through biometric parameters, in moments prior to the injury.

4

Exclusive biomechanical protocols for football.

5

5G technology for real-time telemetric monitoring of players and artificial intelligence algorithms.
